Berlin Thunder sign running back Joshua Jacob and defensive lineman Patrik Schorn

Berlin Thunder continue building their roster for the 2026 season and have announced two new additions to the team. Running back Joshua Jacob and defensive lineman Patrik Schorn will strengthen the Thunder on both sides of the ball.

Both players bring valuable experience from European professional football and add depth to the roster as the team prepares for the upcoming season.

Experience in the backfield

Joshua Jacob joins Berlin Thunder after spending the past five seasons playing in the European League of Football. During that time, he played for the Stuttgart Surge, Leipzig Kings, and most recently the Hamburg Sea Devils, where he spent the last two seasons.

The 30-year-old running back mainly served as a backup but provided reliable depth in the backfield. Across 29 games, Jacob recorded 144 rushing yards on 43 carries.

With his experience in multiple teams and systems, Jacob adds another option to the Thunder running game.

Strengthening the defensive line

Berlin Thunder also added defensive lineman Patrik Schorn to their defense. The 24-year-old has spent the past three seasons in the European League of Football, where he played for the Cologne Centurions and Stuttgart Surge.

During that time, Schorn worked as a rotational defensive lineman and gained valuable experience on the defensive front. In 21 games, he recorded 38 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and one interception.

With Schorn joining the roster, the Thunder add another young and physical presence to their defensive line as they continue preparing for the 2026 season.
