Defensive end DeMarco Artis joins the Alpine Rams

The Alpine Rams have added another defensive playmaker by signing defensive end DeMarco Artis. The 25-year-old brings strong experience from college football in the United States and multiple seasons in Europe.

With his size, athleticism, and pass-rushing ability, Artis is expected to be an important presence on the Rams’ defensive line.

From college football to Europe

Artis was originally recruited by Division I program Baylor University out of high school. After one season with the Baylor Bears, he transferred closer to home to the University of West Florida, where he continued to develop as a defensive end and recorded 7.5 sacks during his college career.

He later moved to Europe, where he quickly made an impact.

Record-breaking season in Finland

In 2023, Artis played for the Wasa Royals in the Finnish Maple League and had an outstanding season. He recorded 44 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and a league-record 12 sacks.

His performance earned him the Lineman of the Year award and established him as one of the top defensive linemen in the league.

Proven impact at a high level

Last season, Artis competed in European professional football, first with the Helvetic Mercenaries and later with the Paris Musketeers. Across 11 games, he recorded 47 tackles, seven sacks, 12 tackles for loss, two pass breakups, and one forced fumble.

These numbers showed his ability to pressure quarterbacks and make consistent plays in the backfield.

Ready to hunt quarterbacks for the Rams

Now, Artis joins the Alpine Rams, where he will aim to bring his pass-rushing skills and energy to the defense. The team expects him to play a key role on the defensive front and help support the franchise in its first season.

With DeMarco Artis on the roster, the Rams add a proven defender who is ready to chase quarterbacks and make an immediate impact.
