Defensive playmaker Amani Dennis extends with the Vienna Vikings
The Vienna Vikings have announced the contract extension of defensive playmaker Amani Dennis. The American defensive back will remain part of the team for the upcoming season.
Strong impact in his first season
Dennis joined the Vikings last season and quickly made his presence felt with strong defensive plays. He was one of the top defensive backs in the league and earned First Team All-Star honors thanks to his performances.
In 11 regular season games, Dennis recorded 29 tackles, one tackle for loss, four interceptions, and 11 pass breakups. He also contributed as a return specialist, adding important yards on special teams. In the playoffs, he continued to perform at a high level with nine tackles, one interception, and three pass breakups.
Experience from college and pro football
Before coming to Europe, Dennis played college football at Carthage, where his performances earned him an invitation to the Cleveland Browns rookie minicamp. He later gained further professional experience in The Spring League with the Generals, in the USFL with the Philadelphia Stars, and in the Canadian Football League with the Toronto Argonauts.
Key piece for the Vikings defense
With Amani Dennis staying on the roster, the Vienna Vikings keep an experienced and dynamic defensive back who can make plays in coverage and on special teams. His presence will remain an important part of the team’s defense for the season ahead.
