Ex-NFL quarterback Kenji Bahar signs with Rhein Fire
Rhein Fire have found their leader at one of the most important offensive positions for the 2026 season in The League Europe. The team has named 28-year-old Kenji Bahar as its new starting quarterback.
With his experience from college football and professional leagues in the United States, Bahar is expected to guide the Fire offense in the upcoming season.
Strong college career at Monmouth
Bahar played his college football at Monmouth University, where he appeared in 48 games and started 40 of them. He won 28 of those starts and became one of the most successful quarterbacks in program history.
During his college career, he threw for 9,642 yards, 70 touchdowns, and 34 interceptions. He also added 333 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns. Bahar broke multiple school records, was selected once to the All-Big South second team, and was named Offensive Player of the Year during his time at Monmouth.
Professional experience in the United States
After college, Bahar signed multiple times with the NFL franchise Baltimore Ravens. During that period, he moved between the practice squad and free agency, gaining valuable experience at the highest level.
In 2022, he was selected in the 12th round of the USFL Draft by the Houston Gamblers. Over 17 games, including 12 starts, he completed 218 passes for 2,253 yards, 10 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He also added 155 rushing yards and helped lead the team to six wins.
First step to Europe
The 2026 season will mark Bahar’s first move to Europe. As QB1 of Rhein Fire, he will take control of the offense and bring leadership, arm strength, and mobility to the field.
With Kenji Bahar under center, Rhein Fire look ready to compete at a high level in The League Europe.
