Finnish defensive back Peter Lundström joins the Paris Lights

The Paris Lights have found their next addition for the defensive backfield, signing Finnish defensive back Peter Lundström. Lundström brings a wealth of European experience and a trophy-winning resume to the Paris secondary.

A well-travelled career across Europe

Lundström has built his career across several clubs, including the Prague Lions, Potsdam Royals, Kuopio Steelers and Wasa Royals. Along the way he has collected two championship titles, winning the German Bowl with the Potsdam Royals in 2023 and the Maple League title with the Kuopio Steelers in 2022. A player who has won at multiple levels of European football is always a valuable addition to any roster.

A trailblazer for Finnish football

Lundström holds a unique distinction in Finnish football history. He is the first Finnish defensive back ever to receive an offer from a Division I college program. That recognition speaks to his talent and the level he has consistently performed at throughout his career.

International pedigree

Lundström is also a key member of the Finnish national team, which claimed the silver medal at last year’s European Championship. His experience at the international level adds another dimension to his profile and underlines his standing as one of the top Finnish defensive backs in the game.

With Lundström on board, the Paris Lights are putting together a deep and experienced defensive backfield ahead of their debut season in 2026.
