Firenze Red Lions complete American import roster with defensive back Trajon Cotton

The Firenze Red Lions have completed their American import signings, adding defensive back Trajon Cotton to the roster. Cotton brings a strong college background, professional experience in Mexico and a reputation as both a playmaker and a leader on and off the field.

A standout high school prospect

Cotton’s football journey began with an impressive high school career at Inderkum High School in California, where he was rated the third-best safety in the state and 46th nationally. He was a two-time MaxPreps honoree, a four-time all-league selection and MVP of his league as a senior, proving himself as one of the top prospects in the country from an early age.

A college career built on growth and leadership

After beginning his college career at Oregon State, Cotton transferred to the University of Montana where he truly came into his own. Over three seasons he appeared in 41 games with 33 starts, finishing his career with 104 tackles, two interceptions, seven pass deflections, 2.5 tackles for loss and a half sack. In his final season he was named team captain, a reflection of the respect he had earned from his teammates and coaching staff.

Cotton’s excellence extended beyond the field as well. He was named Academic All-Big Sky three times and was a semifinalist for the 2023 William V Campbell Trophy, widely known as the Academic Heisman, one of the most prestigious academic honors in college football.

Professional experience in Mexico

Most recently Cotton played for the Dinos de Saltillo in the Mexican LFA, adding professional experience to his already impressive resume before making the move to European football with the Red Lions.

With Cotton now on board, the Firenze Red Lions have completed their American import roster and are fully equipped to compete in their debut season in 2026.
