Firenze Red Lions‘ homegrown territory confirmed

The homegrown territory of the Firenze Red Lions is now officially set. The Italian club will have access to the entire country of Italy, meaning they can sign any Italian player as a homegrown signing.

A strong talent pool

Italy gives the Red Lions access to a deep and talented pool of players. The Italian national team has been one of the top sides in European football in recent years, finishing in the top three at each of the last three IFAF European Championships. They won the title in 2021 and followed that up with third place finishes in both 2023 and 2025. In 2025, Italy secured their bronze medal with a narrow victory over Germany in the third place game.

Almost all territories confirmed

With Firenze’s territory now confirmed, seven of the eight AFLE homegrown territories are publicly known. The league will announce the homegrown territory for the London Football Team soon, completing the full picture ahead of the 2026 season.

The Red Lions will be looking to make the most of their Italian talent pool as they build their roster for the upcoming season.
