Hungarian defensive back Szabolcs Szöllősi joins Firenze Red Lions

The Firenze Red Lions continue to shape their roster for the 2026 season by signing young Hungarian defensive back Szabolcs Szöllősi.

Young talent with international experience

At just 21 years old, Szöllősi already brings valuable experience from the European stage. He most recently played for the Fehérvár Enthroners, where he lined up as a safety and stood out with his reliable tackling.

Throughout the season, Szöllősi showed strong defensive awareness and consistency, often stopping opponents early and preventing big plays with secure tackles.

Developed through strong programs

Szöllősi began his football journey with the Újpest Bulldogs at the U15 level before continuing his development in the youth program of the Vienna Vikings, where he spent four years.

After his time in Vienna, he took the next step in his career by joining the Enthroners and gaining experience at a higher level of competition.

With his discipline, tackling ability, and potential, Szöllősi is expected to add depth and stability to the Red Lions’ secondary as the team prepares for its first season.
