Jamaal Fredericks strengthens London Warriors defensive line
The London Warriors have pulled off an impressive signing, convincing Jamaal Fredericks to come out of retirement for their inaugural AFLE season. Fredericks brings leadership, experience and a trophy-winning resume to a defensive line that is already shaping up to be one of the strengths of the London roster.
A decorated career in British and European football
Fredericks has represented some of the most well-known clubs in British and European football throughout his career, lining up for the Leicester Falcons, Wasa Royals and the London Warriors before stepping away from the game. He has also worn the armband for the Great Britain Lions as team captain, one of the highest honours available to a British football player. His accolades include three Britball championships and a Maple League runner-up finish, a resume that speaks to a player who has consistently performed at the highest level.
Out of retirement and ready to lead
Convincing a player of Fredericks‘ calibre to come out of retirement is a statement of intent from the London Warriors. His presence on and off the field will be invaluable for a first-year franchise looking to establish a winning culture from day one. With his experience, leadership and championship pedigree, Fredericks is exactly the kind of player that elevates everyone around him.
With Fredericks on board, the London Warriors have added a genuine leader to an already talented defensive unit ahead of their debut season in 2026.
