Karé Lyles named Week 4 MVP after leading Warriors to first win

The good news keeps coming for the London Warriors. After securing their first ever win in AFLE history against the Firenze Red Lions, quarterback Karé Lyles has been named Week 4 MVP by the fans of the American Football League Europe, beating Vienna Vikings quarterback Ben Holmes in the vote.

For a team that had started the season with three straight losses, Sunday felt like a turning point. The Warriors did not just win, they did it with a level of offensive control and confidence that will have given the entire squad a boost. And at the centre of it all was Karé Lyles, delivering the kind of performance that reminded everyone why the Warriors believe in what they are building.

A complete quarterback performance

Lyles finished with almost 400 total yards and four passing touchdowns, numbers that speak for themselves. But what stood out just as much as the statistics was the way he commanded the offense. He spread the ball to seven different receivers throughout the game, showing a trust in his teammates and a willingness to take what the defense gave him rather than forcing anything. That kind of maturity and composure is exactly what a team still finding its rhythm needs from its quarterback. When the Firenze defense tightened the pocket, Lyles also showed his mobility, taking five carries on the ground to extend drives and keep his team moving forward. It was a performance that touched every part of the game.

History made in London

The win over the Red Lions was more than three points in the standings. It was the first victory in the London Warriors‘ AFLE history, a moment that will stay with this club as the season unfolds. The homegrown players who have been competing hard through a difficult start now have something to show for it. The coaches who have been building the system week by week have their first proof that it is working. And the fans who have been showing up and supporting through three losses have been rewarded.

Now comes the real test

The Warriors will not have long to celebrate. In Week 5 they face the Vienna Vikings, the best team in the league through four weeks and a side that has looked dominant from the very first game of the season. It is about as tough a test as the schedule can throw at them. But that is also exactly the kind of game a team with momentum wants. The Warriors have their first win, their Week 4 MVP and a belief in what they are doing that was not there a week ago. They will want to carry that into Vienna and see just how far this new confidence can take them.
