Mark Ridgley joins Rhein Fire as head coach

Rhein Fire have appointed Mark Ridgley as their new head coach, bringing valuable NFL experience to the franchise. With a strong background in American and European football, Ridgley is expected to lead the team into a successful new season.

Experience across Europe

Most recently, Ridgley worked as head coach of the Fehérvár Enthroners during the 2025 season. The year before that, he was responsible for the offense of the Madrid Bravos.

Now, he brings his experience and leadership to Rhein Fire, aiming to build a competitive and successful team.

NFL and college background

Ridgley was part of the coaching staff of the San Diego Chargers and later the Los Angeles Chargers from 2012 to 2020. During his time with the organization, he worked his way up from coaching administrative assistant to running backs coach.

Before entering the NFL, Ridgley coached at the University of Pittsburgh and Central Michigan University, gaining valuable experience at the college level.

A new chapter in Rhein Fire history

With his background in the NFL, college football, and European leagues, Ridgley adds expertise and leadership to Rhein Fire.

The organization expects him to use his experience to get the best out of the team and guide the franchise toward a strong and competitive season.
