More Than 600 Cheer and Dance Athletes Join Official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title Attempt at the AFLE Gold Bowl Halftime Show

•

Cheer Germany is joining forces for the AFLE Gold Bowl on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena in Duisburg.

Cool Down — Built to Recover. Code AFLE

As previously announced, halftime will be the stage for an official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title attempt for the most simultaneous cheerleading basket tosses, embedded inside a fully choreographed halftime show created by Pyromaniacs. As of today, more than 600 cheer and dance athletes from 26 clubs in 23 cities across Germany and Austria have already signed up to take part, and the list keeps growing.

A Halftime Show Built Around One Routine

The entire halftime show is a single choreography created by the Rhein Fire Dance Team Pyromaniacs, built in three parts: dance, stunt, and dance again. Hundreds of cheer and dance athletes will open and close the show together, while the record attempt itself sits inside the stunt block at the centre of the routine – the moment every stunt group in the stadium throws a basket toss at exactly the same time. The record currently stands at 103 simultaneous basket tosses, set on 25 March 2017 by International Pacific University in Okayama, Japan. In Duisburg, at least 104 stunt groups will need to land the toss at the same moment to break it, with an official Guinness World Records adjudicator on site to confirm the result live in the stadium.

Cheer Germany Answers the Call

The response from the cheer and dance community has been immediate. More than 600 athletes from 26 clubs across 23 cities have already registered – from North Rhine-Westphalia, where the bulk of the participating clubs are based, to Hamburg, Freiburg, Schweinfurt and Andernach, as well as Vienna Vikings Cheerleader from Austria. Together they turn the AFLE Gold Bowl halftime show into one of the largest cheerleading gatherings Germany has seen.

Cheer and dance clubs from across Europe that want to be part of the record attempt can still join. Interested clubs can find the contact details below.
