Paris Lights sign kicker Boris Bede and homegrown Mathys Dupont
The Paris Lights have addressed their special teams in style, signing two kickers ahead of their debut season. CFL veteran Boris Bede and French homegrown Mathys Dupont give the Lights a experienced and well-rounded kicking operation for 2026.
Boris Bede brings CFL pedigree to Paris
Bede, born in Toulon, France, brings a wealth of professional experience to the Lights after a long career in the Canadian Football League. The 35-year-old spent time with the Montreal Alouettes, Toronto Argonauts and Edmonton Elks, appearing in well over 100 CFL games across his career. His highlight came in 2022 when he kicked the game-winning conversion as the Toronto Argonauts defeated the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the 109th Grey Cup. Known as „Boom Boom“ for his powerful leg, Bede posted a remarkable 94.87% field goal success rate in 2023, the second highest in league history.

Mathys Dupont adds homegrown depth
Alongside Bede, French homegrown Mathys Dupont brings proven production from his time with the Paris Musketeers, where he scored 131 points across two seasons with 16 field goals and 83 point after touchdowns in 26 games. Currently with the Flash de la Courneuve, Dupont also contributes as a defensive back, adding further versatility to the Paris roster.
With both Bede and Dupont now on board, the Paris Lights have built one of the most experienced and reliable kicking operations in the AFLE ahead of the 2026 season.
