Rhein Fire sign American defensive back Nazir Streater
Rhein Fire have announced the signing of 26-year-old American defensive back Nazir Streater. With this move, the franchise adds experience, athleticism, and versatility to its secondary ahead of the new season in The League Europe.
Streater brings a mix of U.S. football background and European league experience.
College and professional background
Streater played college football at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he developed into a strong defensive presence. After finishing his college career, he participated in training camps with the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks and the Houston Gamblers of the UFL.
He also gained professional experience with Duke City in the Indoor Football League before continuing his career in Europe.
Proven production in Europe
Streater came to the Helvetic Mercenaries in 2024 and played five games for the team. After his release, he joined the Hamburg Sea Devils later that season.
He continued with the Sea Devils in the 2025 season and made a strong impact. In twelve games in 2025, he recorded 93 tackles, one sack, two tackles for loss, four interceptions, and seven pass deflections. His performances made him one of the most productive defensive backs in the league.
He also proved his value as a return specialist. In the 2025 season, he totaled 1,511 return yards on 56 returns, showing his explosiveness and importance on special teams.
A dangerous duo in the secondary
Now, Streater takes the next step and joins Rhein Fire in The League Europe. Together with defensive back Cam’ron Kelly, he is expected to form a dangerous duo in the Fire secondary.
With his experience and playmaking ability, Streater adds another strong piece to Rhein Fire’s defensive unit as the team prepares for the upcoming season.
