Rhein Fire sign former NFL receiver Kaylon Geiger Sr.
Rhein Fire have strengthened their offense by signing wide receiver Kaylon Geiger Sr., a former NFL player with experience from college football and professional leagues in North America.
Geiger brings speed, versatility, and high-level experience to the Fire receiving corps.
From junior college standout to FBS playmaker
After high school, Geiger joined Navarro College, where he quickly developed into one of the top junior college receivers. Over two seasons, he recorded 100 catches for 1,451 yards and earned all-conference recognition.
In 2019, he transferred to Troy University and made an immediate impact. In his first season, he caught 77 passes for 873 yards and five touchdowns, earning First Team All-Sun Belt honors and Newcomer of the Year.
He later finished his college career at Texas Tech, where he played his final season and continued to contribute as a reliable receiver and returner. Across his time at Troy and Texas Tech, he totaled 184 receptions for 2,158 yards and nine touchdowns.
NFL opportunity and professional experience
After the 2022 NFL Draft, Geiger signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent. He spent time on the active roster and practice squad and made his NFL debut against the New Orleans Saints.
Following his time in the NFL, Geiger also signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the Canadian Football League in 2024, adding further professional experience.
A new chapter with Rhein Fire
Now, Kaylon Geiger Sr. begins the next chapter of his career in Europe with Rhein Fire. His background from top-level college football, the NFL environment, and the CFL makes him a valuable addition to the offense.
Rhein Fire expect Geiger to bring playmaking ability and experience to the receiving group as the team prepares for the upcoming season.
