Team captain Elmeri Laalo stays with the Vienna Vikings

The Vienna Vikings continue to rely on leadership and defensive strength. Team captain Elmeri Laalo will remain with the franchise and continue to anchor the Vikings defense.

The 24-year-old Finnish defender has already spent the past three seasons wearing the Vikings jersey and has consistently delivered strong performances.

A key leader on defense

Standing at 1.92 meters, Laalo brings size, athleticism, and presence to the field. Over the last three seasons, he has developed into one of the most important players in the defensive unit.

His role goes beyond his position. As a team captain, he represents leadership, discipline, and intensity.

Strong production over three seasons

In 32 games for the Vikings, Laalo recorded 138 tackles, three sacks, and 10.5 tackles for loss. He also collected seven interceptions, returning two of them for touchdowns.

In addition, he added 15 pass deflections and one fumble return. These numbers show that Laalo is not only a vocal leader, but also a consistent playmaker on the field.

Stability for the Vikings defense

By keeping Elmeri Laalo, the Vienna Vikings secure experience and continuity on defense. His combination of leadership and performance makes him a central figure as the team prepares for the new season.

With their captain staying on board, the Vikings defense remains in strong hands.
