Thunder QB Sullivan and Panthers QB Wang made AFLE history in Week 13

Week 13 of the American Football League Europe regular season delivered three outstanding quarterback performances, with Jakeb Sullivan, Jameson Wang and Ben Holmes putting together statistical lines worthy of the season’s elite. Sullivan and Wang were the headline acts, setting AFLE history with record-breaking touchdown passing performances in a remarkable weekend for quarterbacks.

Jakeb Sullivan leads Berlin Thunder with historic passing performance

Jakeb Sullivan produced arguably the most eye-catching individual performance of the weekend (if not the season) for the Berlin Thunder against the Paris Lights. The quarterback completed 37 of 45 passes for 461 yards, finishing with an outstanding 82.22 completion percentage and 10.24 yards per attempt.

The biggest number, however, was his seven touchdown passes, a new single-game record in AFLE history. Sullivan did everything he could to keep Berlin’s offense moving, adding a remarkable passer rating of 148.9. He also avoided an interception despite throwing the ball 45 times.

His wide receivers were also profiting from Sullivan’s amazing performance. Bais Kouanda put up more than 200 receiving yards and three scores, while fellow wideout Jon Cole found the endzone four times against the Paris Lights.

The performance was another reminder of Sullivan’s quality throughout the season. Unfortunately for the Thunder, his individual excellence was not enough to secure a playoff place. Berlin will not be part of the postseason despite Sullivan’s consistently impressive campaign, leaving the quarterback’s Week 13 masterclass as a fitting highlight of a difficult season.

Jameson Wang powers Panthers Wrocław with six touchdowns through the air

Jameson Wang was just one touchdown behind Sullivan but produced another historic performance for the Panthers Wrocław. He completed 20 of 25 attempts for 286 yards, averaging 11.44 yards per completion attempt, while throwing six touchdown passes and only one interception.

His 80 percent completion rate and 137.3 passer rating underline how efficiently the Panthers moved the football through the air. Like Sullivan, Wang’s six-touchdown performance established a new benchmark for a single game in AFLE history, turning Week 13 into a record-setting weekend for the league’s quarterbacks.

Most importantly, the Panthers remain alive when it matters most. Wrocław will move on to the playoff semi-finals, giving Wang an opportunity to add another chapter to an already impressive season.

Ben Holmes keeps Vienna Vikings productive

The Vikings quarterback Ben Holmes completed the trio of elite Week 13 quarterback performances with another highly efficient showing for the Vienna Vikings. He completed 20 of 23 passes for 293 yards, producing an exceptional 86.96 completion percentage and 12.74 yards per attempt.

Holmes threw five touchdown passes without an interception, finishing with a perfect 158.3 passer rating. His performance just lacked two touchdown passes to be historic, but his efficiency was arguably the most impressive of the three.

With the Vikings also heading into the playoff semi-finals, Holmes now has the chance to turn his Week 13 excellence into postseason success in two weeks.
