Alpine Rams add All-American defensive lineman Lamonte McDougle
The Alpine Rams continue to build their roster and have signed Lamonte McDougle as their second American player for the defensive line. McDougle is expected to form a strong and physical duo up front together with DeMarco Artis.
College experience at a high level
McDougle played college football at several major programs in the United States. He began his career at West Virginia, where he earned Freshman All-America honors and recorded 23 tackles, including four for loss and two sacks.
After a stop at Washington State, where he appeared in all 13 games in 2019 and contributed tackles, a blocked field goal, and a fumble recovery, he later continued his career at UTSA. There, he played multiple seasons and saw action in every game, adding tackles, tackles for loss, and quarterback pressure while helping the team compete at a high level.
Professional experience in Europe
Following his college career, McDougle moved to Europe. In 2024, he played in the German Football League for the Dresden Monarchs, gaining valuable experience in European football.
In 2025, he joined the Paris Musketeers for part of the season, where he continued to show his physical presence and defensive impact on the field.
Strong football family background
Football runs in McDougle’s family. His father, Stockar McDougle, was a first-round NFL Draft pick by the Detroit Lions, while his uncle Jerome McDougle was also selected in the first round by the Philadelphia Eagles. In addition, his cousin Tommie Harris became a three-time Pro Bowl player in the NFL.
Ready for the next step with the Rams
Now, Lamonte McDougle joins the Alpine Rams in the AFLE, where he will look to bring strength, experience, and physicality to the defensive front.
Together with his teammates on the line, he is expected to play an important role as the Rams prepare for their first season in franchise history.
