Alpine Rams strengthen defensive line with Spanish homegrown Jose Soares

The Alpine Rams have added young talent to their defensive line by signing 23-year-old defensive tackle Jose Soares. The Spanish player, who was originally set to play for the Madrid Bravos, became a free agent after the team’s withdrawal and was signed by the Swiss franchise under the Spanish Solidarity Rule.

Champion experience from Germany

Soares played last season for the German Football League champions, the Potsdam Royals. Despite his young age, he already gained valuable experience at a high level of competition.

Standing at 194 cm and weighing 129 kg, Soares recorded nine tackles and three sacks during the season. His physical presence and strength make him a strong addition to the Rams’ defensive front.

Important role in the defense

Soares is expected to play an important role in the Rams defense, especially when it comes to controlling the middle of the line, stopping the run, and putting pressure on opposing offenses.

He is the second Spanish player signed by the Alpine Rams and classified as a homegrown player, following the earlier signing of offensive lineman Gabriel Rodriguez Petrova.

With his combination of size, experience, and potential, Soares adds another key piece to the Rams roster as the team continues to build a competitive defense for its first season.
