Firenze Red Lions sign Spanish wide receiver Aaron David
The Firenze Red Lions continue building their roster and have announced the signing of Spanish wide receiver Aaron David.
David becomes the first Spanish player in the AFLE to be signed under the Spanish Solidarity Rule, which allows eligible Spanish players to join teams as Homegrown players. He will therefore count as a Homegrown player on the Red Lions roster.
Opportunity through the Spanish Solidarity Rule
David was originally signed by the Madrid Bravos for the 2026 season. However, after the franchise suspended its operations, he became a free agent. The Red Lions moved quickly and secured the talented receiver for their team.
Experience across Europe
Aaron David has already gained experience with several teams in European football. During his career, he played for the Zaragoza Hurricanes, Lohja Crusaders, Barcelona Dragons, and the Dresden Monarchs.
With the Monarchs, David established himself as a reliable target in the passing game and helped the team reach the German Bowl. In the championship game against the Potsdam Royals, he caught three passes for 24 yards and one touchdown.
Reliable target at receiver
During the regular season with the Dresden Monarchs, David recorded 21 receptions for 282 yards and two touchdowns.
With his experience and ability as a receiver, Aaron David now joins the Firenze Red Lions as they continue to strengthen their offense for the upcoming season.
