The Firenze Red Lions have found their head coach for their first season. Experienced coach Bart Andrus will lead the Italian franchise as the first head coach in team history.

With this signing, General Manager Bart Iaccarino quickly follows through on his plan. In a recent interview, he explained that building the coaching staff would be the first priority before focusing on the roster.

A highly experienced football coach

By signing Bart Andrus, the Red Lions bring in a coach with decades of experience across several levels of football. Throughout his career, Andrus has coached at strong college programs and also gained experience in the NFL, NFL Europe, the Canadian Football League, and the European League of Football.

His career includes several notable achievements. Andrus was named NAIA Division I Coach of the Year, won the NFL Europe Coach of the Year award, and became a World Bowl XIII champion.

Experience in European football

Andrus is also very familiar with the European football landscape. Most recently, he served as head coach of the Frankfurt Galaxy in the European League of Football, where the team narrowly missed the playoffs.

Now he takes on a new challenge in Italy. As the first head coach of the Firenze Red Lions, Andrus will be responsible for building the team’s identity and leading the franchise into its inaugural season.
