No Thunder, Just Lightning as Panthers Strike Berlin Down
In the game everyone circled around this week and wanted to be a part of, the Wroclaw Panthers danced the Berlin Thunder right off the field.
FINAL SCORE: BERLIN THUNDER AT WROCLAW PANTHERS – 12:50
Panthers Own the Game On the Ground and Through the Air
Wroclaw Panthers made their statement early and never let up. Jameson Wang: patient in the pocket, precise, and in full control. Running back Dawid Brzozowski set the tone on the ground, finishing with 148 yards on 16 carries, while Wang found Michael Harley Jr. for a touchdown on a crucial 4th and 3, the receiver breaking free just when Berlin needed a stop most. Wang himself punched one in rushing, and Kacper Jaszewski added a third touchdown to complete a dominant first half. The Panthers offense showed exactly what it looks like when everything clicks. Berlin’s injury issues in the backfield made containing it even harder. The second half started slower, but a Flores-Calderon touchdown made sure there was no doubt about who owned this game from start to finish.
Berlin Thunder Once Again Their Own Worst Enemy As Penalties Continue to Haunt Them
Berlin Thunder arrived in Wroclaw as the AFLE’s statistical leader at quarterback: Jakeb Sullivan had been putting up numbers that belonged in a different conversation entirely heading into Week 4. But none of that mattered on Sunday. From the first snap, Berlin stumbled under pressure, unable to make quick decisions before the pass rush arrived. Sullivan leaned on his go-to weapon Jon Cole heavily, but even the Week 3 MVP couldn’t bail Berlin out of the holes they kept digging themselves. The signal caller was also sacked three times on the day, adding to a season total that was already the highest in the league heading into Week 4.
The Thunder were once again their own worst enemy. Flags kept killing drives in the first half, and gifted Wroclaw free yards and fresh sets of downs, and the Panthers took every single one of them without apology. Berlin struggled to gain yards, struggled to protect, and struggled to get out of their own way. 30-0 at halftime said everything.
Jameson Wang Deals Touchdowns Like Darts And Every One Hits the Bullseye
Wang finished with five touchdown passes and one rushing score, spreading the ball across the field like he had a blueprint Berlin couldn’t read. Michael Harley Jr. hauled in one of them: a 41-yard strike to the right that looked effortless. Juan Flores-Calderon got his on a 33-yard shot down the field. Kacper Jaszewski found the end zone twice. Maciej Krupa added another. And when Wang wasn’t throwing darts, he was running them in himself. Kamil Kotlarz capped it off with a 33-yard rushing touchdown to the left. Six different players involved in the scoring. One quarterback pulling every string. By the fourth quarter, with the game long decided, Wang handed the reins to backup quarterback Diego Lliteras, a luxury only a team in total control can afford.
WHAT’S NEXT
For the Wroclaw Panthers, it’s a well-earned bye week and plenty of time to let Sunday’s statement sink in. Berlin Thunder have no such luxury. They hit the road again next Sunday, this time facing a Rhein Fire side that just shut out the Paris Lights 35-0. After a performance like this, that trip to Duisburg will feel like a very long drive.
