Simon Alvarez Plata strengthens Panthers linebacker corps
The Wroclaw Panthers have filled their final import roster spot, signing German-Bolivian linebacker Marcello Simon Alvarez Plata. Alvarez Plata arrives with two seasons of experience and an impressive stat line that underlines his value as a complete and well-rounded linebacker.
Two productive seasons in European football
Alvarez Plata spent the last two seasons playing in the European League of Football, lining up for the Hamburg Sea Devils and the Berlin Thunder respectively. Across 22 games he recorded 158 tackles, three sacks, nine tackles for loss, two interceptions, five pass breakups and a fumble recovery. Those numbers tell the story of a linebacker who can do a little bit of everything on the defensive side of the ball and consistently makes life difficult for opposing offenses.
Completing the Panthers roster
With Alvarez Plata now signed, the Wroclaw Panthers have filled all of their import spots and completed their roster ahead of the 2026 season. His arrival gives the Panthers‘ linebacker corps another experienced and productive player to complement the homegrown talent already in place.
With Alvarez Plata on board, the Wroclaw Panthers head into the 2026 season with a complete and well-rounded roster ready to compete.
