Top Homegrowns of Week 6

Week 6 gave us some of the most dominant homegrown performances of the season so far. A running back trio that simply could not be stopped and a tight end who turned a single play into a highlight of the season. Here are the homegrowns who made their mark in Week 6.

Panthers running back trio too good to handle

Panthers Wroclaw ran all over the Firenze Red Lions in Week 6, racking up 294 rushing yards as a team and making it look easy. The three-headed running back room of Dawid Brzozowski, Kamil Kotlarz and Bartosz Woch was simply impossible to stop. Brzozowski got things going with two rushing touchdowns on 8 carries for 58 yards before being rested with the game already in hand. Kotlarz stepped up with 87 rushing yards and a touchdown on 16 carries, keeping the ground game moving at a high level. And then there was Woch, who rounded off an extraordinary afternoon with 120 yards and a touchdown on just 11 carries, the performance that earned him the Week 6 MVP award. Three backs, three different contributions, one relentless performance.

Sauerland impossible to bring down

In the Rhein Fire at Alpine Rams game, tight end Tim Sauerland stole the show. The 23-year-old German was one of the best players on the field, finishing with 4 catches for 93 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns. The moment that will stick in the memory came when Sauerland caught the ball, found two Rams defenders in his path and simply hurdled over them before running into the end zone. It was the kind of play that makes highlights packages and reminds everyone watching that this young tight end is a very serious talent.

Week 6 was another strong chapter for European homegrown football. The Panthers running back trio showed that depth at running back can be just as dangerous as having one elite ball carrier, while Sauerland delivered the most eye-catching individual play of the week. The homegrown story in this league keeps getting better.
