Vienna Vikings strengthen offensive line with Spanish homegrown David Culebras
The Vienna Vikings have added yet another piece to their already formidable offensive line, signing Spanish lineman David Culebras. Culebras joins thanks to the Spanish solidarity rule following the Madrid Bravos‘ withdrawal from the 2026 season, becoming the second former Bravos player to join the Vikings after defensive back Pablo Araya.
A leader on the offensive line
Culebras was a key part of the Madrid Bravos‘ offensive line last season, playing an important role in enabling what was one of the most productive offenses in the league. He was responsible for protecting former NFL quarterback Reid Sinnett and was regarded as one of the leaders of the Bravos‘ offensive line corps. That kind of experience and leadership is exactly what the Vikings were looking for when they moved to secure his signature.
Adding to an already dominant unit
The Vikings‘ offensive line was already considered one of the strongest in the league, and the addition of Culebras only strengthens that reputation further. He steps into a highly competitive position group and will push for playing time alongside some of the best linemen in European football.
Familiar faces in Vienna
Culebras will not be short of familiar company at the Vikings. Australian offensive lineman Brendan Oswin is already on the roster, giving Culebras a known face to work alongside from day one. That existing chemistry between the two, built during their time together at the Bravos, could prove to be another advantage for the Vikings as they prepare for the 2026 season.
