Warsaw Eagles Owner Paul Kuśmierz: “We Are Building the Best Team in Poland”
The owner of Poland’s oldest American football club commits to the long run and sets a clear goal for the Eagles’ first season in the American Football League Europe.

Paul Kuśmierz, longtime owner of the Warsaw Eagles, is committing to the long run ahead of the club’s first season in the American Football League Europe (AFLE), and he has set a clear goal: the best American football team in Poland. His commitment reflects what the AFLE looks for in its franchise owners: solid foundations and a long-term dedication to American football.
The Warsaw Eagles will join the AFLE for the 2027 season. Founded in 1999, the club is Poland’s oldest American football organization and enters the league as the reigning Polish champion, with three straight Polish Bowl titles from 2024 to 2026.
Paul Kuśmierz, owner of the Warsaw Eagles, said: “I have been with this club for many years, and I am here for many more. Three Polish Bowls in a row are a great start, but they are not the goal. We are building the best American football team in Poland. If anyone wants to take that title from us, they know where to find us: on the field, in the AFLE.”
Jim Tomsula, CEO of the American Football League Europe, added: “Strong leagues are built by strong owners. Paul has stood by the Warsaw Eagles for years, and he is in it for the long run. That is exactly what we look for in the AFLE. And I like his ambition. Competition makes everybody better, on and off the field, and Poland is a football country with a great future.”
The Warsaw Eagles will play their first AFLE season in 2027.
