Firenze Red Lions appoint Bill Shuey as special teams coordinator

The Firenze Red Lions have added another experienced coach to their staff by appointing Bill Shuey as special teams coordinator. The former NFL coach joins the Italian franchise as the coaching staff continues to take shape.

Shuey becomes the fourth coach on the staff alongside head coach Bart Andrus, defensive coordinator Tom Mason, and offensive coordinator Mike Mitchell.

Multiple coaching roles

In addition to his role as special teams coordinator, Shuey will also serve as defensive pass game coordinator and secondary coach. His experience and knowledge are expected to strengthen several areas of the team’s coaching structure.

Long NFL coaching career

Shuey brings more than 25 years of coaching experience. During his career, he spent 10 years on the coaching staff of the Philadelphia Eagles. He also worked with the Chicago Bears for four seasons and spent three years with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Most recently, he was part of the Miami Dolphins coaching staff.

Defensive coaching expertise

Throughout his career, Shuey worked in several different defensive coaching roles. His experience with defensive systems and player development will now be an important part of the Red Lions’ preparations for the upcoming season.
