Firenze Red Lions sign British running back Simon Olaifa

The Firenze Red Lions have found their next import player, signing young British running back Simon Olaifa. At just 19 years old, Olaifa is one of the most exciting young talents in British American football and arrives in Florence with big ambitions for his development.

A talent making his mark early

Olaifa has already shown his potential at multiple levels of the game. He played college football for the UWE Bullets in the United Kingdom before taking his game across the Atlantic to gain experience in the Canadian Junior Football League. Although his time there was limited to three appearances, he made the most of his opportunities, recording 34 yards on nine carries and giving a first glimpse of what he is capable of. At 19, those early steps already paint a picture of a player with a bright future ahead.

The right environment to develop

At the Firenze Red Lions, Olaifa will have everything he needs to grow as a player. He will be backed by a developing offensive line that already includes Mexican lineman Abraham Chacón and fellow Brit Peter Hart, a front that is being built with the intention of creating a productive and physical running game. With that kind of support around him, Olaifa has a real opportunity to show and develop his talent in Florence.

With Olaifa on board, the Firenze Red Lions continue to build a well-rounded and exciting roster ahead of their debut season in 2026.
