Firenze Red Lions sign I-Import Abraham Chacón as first player in franchise history
The Firenze Red Lions continue building their organization for the upcoming 2026 season and have now signed the first player in franchise history. Mexican offensive lineman Abraham Chacón joins the Italian team as its first official roster addition.
After announcing experienced coach Bart Andrus as head coach, General Manager Bart Iaccarino now begins building the roster, starting with the offensive line.
Strengthening the offensive line
With the signing of Chacón, the Red Lions clearly show that protecting their future quarterback will be a top priority. The Mexican lineman brings both size and experience to the offensive front and is expected to become an important piece of the team’s offense.
Chacón played last season in Mexico’s professional league, the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional (LFA), where he suited up for the Arcángeles de Puebla.
Top pick in the LFA Draft
Before joining the Red Lions, Chacón was selected first overall in the 2025 LFA Draft by the Arcángeles de Puebla, highlighting his talent and potential as an offensive lineman.
Prior to his professional career, he played college football for Burros Blancos IPN in Mexico, where he developed into one of the top offensive line prospects in the country.
First step in building the Red Lions roster
With Abraham Chacón becoming the first player in franchise history, the Firenze Red Lions officially begin shaping their roster for the 2026 AFLE season.
The signing marks an important step for the Italian franchise as it continues preparing for its first year of competition in The League Europe.
