Paris Lights sign Troy University offensive lineman Matt Henry
The Paris Lights have landed one of their strongest signings yet, adding New Zealand offensive lineman Matt Henry to their roster. Henry arrives fresh off an outstanding senior season at Troy University and brings a level of college pedigree that immediately strengthens the Paris offensive line.
A standout senior season at Troy
Henry saved his best for last at Troy University, where he was the only offensive lineman to start and play in all 14 games during his senior season in 2025. He played a team-high 946 snaps on offense, was named Troy’s top-rated pass blocker and earned a place on the All-Sun Belt Third Team. Perhaps most impressively, he did not allow a single sack in nine of those 14 games, finishing his Troy career with just seven sacks allowed across 797 passing snaps.
Consistency throughout his college career
Henry’s reliability was not limited to his final season. As a junior in 2024 he started the last six games at right guard without allowing a sack across 224 passing situations, grading out at an impressive 89.8 in pass blocking in one game. He was a key blocker for a 1,000-yard rusher and a 1,000-yard receiver in the same season, only the third time in program history that duo had been achieved. Before Troy, Henry was rated as the number 22 interior junior college offensive lineman in the country at New Mexico Military Institute.
The right addition for Paris
Henry joins a Paris Lights offensive line that is steadily building towards being one of the most competitive units in the league. His proven ability to protect the quarterback and create running lanes makes him an excellent fit for what offensive coordinator Timur Beckmann is looking to build around quarterback Evan Hillock.
With Henry on board, the Paris Lights have made a significant statement with one of the most accomplished offensive line signings in the AFLE offseason.
