Vienna Vikings add offensive lineman Oliver Durč

The Vienna Vikings continue to strengthen their offensive line by signing Slovakian lineman Oliver Durč. After recently extending veteran Aleksandar Milanovic, the team adds more depth and experience, especially on the interior of the offensive line.

Durč most recently played for the Prague Lions in the European League of Football, where he established himself as a reliable part of the offensive line unit.

A strong addition to the offensive front

With his experience in European football, Durč brings both stability and versatility to the Vikings. He is expected to compete for playing time on the interior line and support the team’s physical style of play.

Head Coach Chris Calaycay is confident in the new addition:
“Oliver joins our big guys, coming into Vienna with a ton of European experience. He is a versatile football player, and adding extra veteran pounds to the OL is always a welcome addition.”

“It was a no-brainer”

Durč is excited about the opportunity to join one of Europe’s top organizations.

“The Vienna Vikings are the best organization in Europe, with great players and coaches. As a bonus, Vienna is closer to my hometown and my family. It was a no-brainer to sign with them,” he said.

Focus on development and winning

Looking ahead to the season, Durč has clear goals for his time in Vienna.

“My expectations are to learn as much as I can, get better, and win the championship,” he explained.

He is also looking forward to the atmosphere and the team environment:
“I’m looking forward to playing in a home stadium in front of that amazing crowd and of course to play with my teammates, especially the Vienna offensive line which I was watching closely the past two years.”

With Oliver Durč, the Vienna Vikings add another important piece to their offensive line as they prepare for the upcoming season.
