International roster spots bring global talent to AFLE
As roster construction continues across the American Football League Europe, teams are steadily filling their international import positions for the 2026 season. With several recent signings from different countries, the league now features players from across the global football landscape.
The latest additions include Mexican offensive lineman Abraham Chacón, who joined the Firenze Red Lions, and Japanese defensive end Sean Trotter, who signed with the Vienna Vikings. With these moves, players from all countries eligible for the International player category are now represented in the league.
Early international signings across the league
The first International player announced for the 2026 season was Canadian tight end Dylan St. Pierre, who signed with the Wroclaw Panthers. Shortly after, the Alpine Rams added Canadian linebacker Harold Miessan to strengthen their defense.
Rhein Fire also used their International roster spot to sign Canadian defensive back Justin Howell, bringing valuable experience from the Canadian Football League to their secondary.
These signings show how teams across the league are looking for experienced players who can bring both talent and international experience to their rosters.
Several international spots still open
Despite these signings, several International roster spots remain available across the league. Currently, three teams have not yet announced their International player for the upcoming season.
The London Football Team, the Paris Lights, and the Berlin Thunder still have their International roster spot open and may announce their signings in the coming weeks as roster planning continues.
With teams continuing to build competitive squads for the 2026 season, more international signings are expected soon as the league prepares for kickoff.
